CHDS analyst Zach Ward developed multimedia tutorials and support materials for the open-source modeling software Amua. Multimedia segments include (1) an introduction to the tutorials, (2) a software overview, (3) how to navigate Amua, (4) how to build Markov models, and (5) how to build decision trees using Amua. The lab exercise on building decision trees was used in the course “Decision Science for Public Health”, RDS 202, instructed by Sue J. Goldie and co-instructor Eve Wittenberg.
The lab exercise guided students through the process of building decision trees using the open-source software Amua, designed and developed by Ward. The exercise included a video tutorial and resource pack. Materials walked students through the software environment, fundamentals of building decision trees, developing models, and running baseline and sensitivity analyses. Feedback gathered during the lab will be used to make improvements to the software and companion materials.
The multimedia components and resource pack were designed and produced in partnership with the CHDS Media Hub and its lead Jake Waxman.
