Teaching Benefit-Cost Analysis

Finding interesting and up-to-date work that challenges students to think carefully about difficult methodological issues is a challenge for educators. CHDS faculty Lisa A. Robinson recently contributed to “Teaching Benefit-Cost Analysis”, edited by Scott Farrow, which includes 19 concise chapters designed to inform students about a broad range of topics. Ms. Robinson’s chapter on “Valuing Statistical Lives” discusses the conceptual framework, the available empirical research, and approaches for application.
