Nicholas Latimer, CHDS visitor, gave a seminar entitled “Adjusting for Treatment Switching in Randomized Controlled Trials”.
Latimer was introduced by CHDS adjunct faculty member Uwe Siebert. The talk presented methods that allow researchers to adjust for the impact of treatment switching in RCTs. The seminar discussed Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies’ requirements for valid estimates of effectiveness in the absence of treatment switching while intention-to-treat estimates of effectiveness are commonly affected by switching.
