Ankur Pandya, Assistant Professor of Decision Science and core faculty member of CHDS, was one of three recipients of the prestigious Teaching Citation Award from the Harvard T.H. Chan School for 2017. Dr. Pandya teaches Decision Analysis for Health and Medical Practices, known as “RDS 280”, the cornerstone course of the decision science curriculum since it was inaugurated over 25 years ago. “I love teaching!” is Ankur’s rallying cry, which translates into enthusiastic and appreciative students, as this award is based on student nominations. Ankur’s research agenda focuses on applied decision science studies evaluating cardiovascular disease policies; connecting cost-effectiveness analysis with broader value-based health policies being implemented or piloted in U.S. health reform; and methodological topics within disease simulation modeling (calibration, validation, value of information). His work has been covered in The New York Times, National Public Radio, NBC Nightly News, and other media outlets.
