CHDS’s repository team, comprised of decision science faculty and content specialists, welcomed Smita Bhattacharya, MS to their group in February. Contributing to the growing assortment of resources, Smita will curate educational goods and develop data-driven collections to broaden the resource library, which is predominately made of publicly accessible goods related to decision science. “It’s been great to work with the team already.” Smita shared, adding “right now, I’m putting together a pack of teaching resources and lessons that use current, applicable topics to expose high school students to risk and decision making. Knowing it could reach such a broad audience is exciting – the goal is that most of the materials are accessible to students and educators – and that makes a huge difference in learning.”

Bringing her recent experiences at Global Health Education and Learning Incubator (GHELI), Smita contributed and selected resources that focused on public health for GHELI’s digital library. She also participated in an immersion residency where she experimented with and designed pedagogy methods using multimedia techniques at the Incubator.

Smita graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in Biotechnology. She has been a research assistant at Johns Hopkins, Bloomberg School of Public Health and was a NIH-National Institute on Drug Abuse fellow at Yale University, Child Study Center.
