Stephen Resch moderated a panel at the International AIDS Economic Network conference “Practical Solutions to Financing the Expansion and the Sustainability of HIV/AIDS Interventions.” The panel, called “The Role of Cost Analysis in Strategic Planning and Budgeting Processes,” featured case studies conducted as part of a grant to CHDS from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, from Kenya (presented by Regina Ombam of the Kenya National AIDS Control Council) and South Africa (presented by Gesina Myers-Rath and Joshua Murphy from HE2RO/Boston University) on how information on the cost of HIV services is collected and analyzed to support national strategic planning. The project’s goal is to work with countries and international partners to strengthen capacity to generate and use cost information to inform strategic planning processes.
