Doctoral students Jacob Jameson, Skye Yoden, and Yu Li (Lily) Hsieh presented at the 2024 INFORMS Annual Meeting held in Seattle in October. Hosted by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), it is one of the largest gatherings of professionals and researchers in operations research, analytics, data science, and management. INFORMS facilitates the application of advanced analytics and operational strategies to solve complex problems across various fields, including healthcare, transportation, and public policy.
Jameson chaired two sessions in Health Applications Society and Decision Analysis Society and presented his research on emergency department test batching. Yoden presented her work on decision science in low-resource environments. And Hsieh presented her work on discrete event simulation in cost-effectiveness evaluation of prognostic tests. CHDS faculty Soroush Saghafian also presented on his work on Ambiguous Dynamic Treatment Regimes and spoke on a panel for Data-Driven Excellence in Healthcare.
