CHDS welcomes incoming student Armand Zimmerman to the Decision Science track of Harvard’s PhD Program in Health Policy beginning Fall, 2026.
Zimmerman holds a Master of Science in Global Health from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During his master’s program, he worked with the Global Emergency Medicine Innovation and Implementation Research Center (GEMINI) to develop clinical decision-support tools aimed at improving traumatic brain injury outcomes in Tanzania. For the past six years, Zimmerman has served as a research program leader at the Center for Policy Impact in Global Health where he has led economic evaluations of global health interventions and investment strategies. His work has generated evidence to inform health policy and resource allocation across infectious and neglected tropical diseases, maternal health, health system strengthening, and research and development in low- and middle-income countries.
His research has been published in academic journals including The Lancet, The Lancet Global Health, BMJ Global Health, and PLOS Global Public Health.
