Jameson 2023 INFORMS Video Finalist

CHDS Doctoral Student Jacob Jameson is a finalist in the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) 2023 Public Sector Operations Research (PSOR) Best Video Awards for his submission, “Improving Emergency Department Flow.” The award provides an opportunity to disseminate public sector operations research through a creative showcase intended for a broad audience. As a finalist, Jameson will present his video at the INFORMS 2023 Annual Meeting in the PSOR Best Video Award session.

Jameson’s video highlights his work with CHDS faculty Soroush Saghafian and The Mayo Clinic, currently supported by his 2022 Howard Raiffa Fund award. It describes how optimizing test ordering strategies can reduce over-testing and bottlenecks in the emergency department. Jameson will also present this research in a session he is chairing titled “Improving Health Decision Making: Screening, Diagnosis, and Policy.”
