Karen Smith, doctoral student in Health Policy / Decision Sciences, was awarded a graduate research fellowship from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Begun in 1952, the NSF’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported STEM disciplines. The fellowship provides three years of financial support as well as access to professional development programs. Smith’s fellowship, which begins September 2020, will support three years of her doctoral research, which will begin with developing potential dissertation topics in decisions sciences and chronic disease modeling.
