Hanxuan (Astrid) Yu and Janice Jhang join the PhD Program in Health Policy, decision science track in Fall, 2024.
Astrid Yu earned a BS in Psychology from Beijing Normal University in 2021 and an MEd in Quantitative Methods from Vanderbilt University in 2022. As a research analyst at the Vanderbilt Department of Health Policy, Yu contributed to models for conditions such as substance use disorder and cardiovascular disease. Yu’s research interests include simulation modeling and cost-effectiveness analysis for disease prevention and treatment strategies, with a focus on advancing decision sciences methodologies and their dissemination.
Janice Jhang earned a BS in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University, where she was a Meinig Scholar and Tanner Dean’s Scholar and an MPH in Health Policy from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. As an educational innovation scholar at the Center for Health Decision Science, Jhang developed a high school curriculum to spark early interest and enhance diversity in health decision science. Her research interests include incorporating equity into health economic evaluations, the therapeutic pipeline for Alzheimer’s disease, and the challenges of biosimilar adoption in the US.
