Janice Jhang and Hanxuan (Astrid) Yu, first-year doctoral students in Health Policy, are 2025 recipients of Novartis fund awards for research projects with CHDS faculty.
Jhang will be working with CHDS faculty Ankur Pandya on his project, Representation in Alzheimer’s Disease Clinical Trials. This work will estimate the value of increasing representation in Alzheimer’s Disease-related clinical trials, and involve literature reviews and simulation model development.
Yu will be working with CHDS faculty Zachary Ward on his project, Value of Information Algorithms for Amua. This project aims to extend the value of information (VOI) features available in the open-source modeling software Amua, including expected value of partial perfect information (EVPPI) and expected value of sample information (EVSI).
About the Award
The Novartis Fund offers stipend support for faculty-initiated research projects that expand students’ experience and skills and decision science. Open to all health policy PhD students, Novartis fund recipients work directly with a member of the CHDS faculty on the project and are provided with supervision and mentorship.
