Tom Gaziano, CHDS core faculty, gave an invited presentation at Duke University grand rounds as the inaugural global health visiting professor.
Gaziano presented two separate sessions on areas critical to research and care of populations and patients. He discussed the challenges and tools that can be applied to the relief of the burden of disease, as well as the value of these endeavors as a two-way street improving the welfare of people in low- and middle-income countries as well as the United States. He further described the methodologies and mind-set required to succeed for those beginning or in the early stages of careers in global health.
Faculty, medical residents and doctoral students interested in careers in global health attended the presentation.
