Jinyi Zhu Acknowledged for Teaching Excellence

Jinyi Zhu, PhD student in Health Policy and Decision Sciences at CHDS, was awarded a 2021 Teaching Assistant Award from the Harvard Chan School. The award recognizes important contributions of teaching assistants to education at Harvard Chan, and recipients are selected based on student reviews submitted in course evaluations.

Over the past five years, Zhu has served as a teaching fellow thirteen times for six different courses in Risk and Decision Sciences (RDS), ranging from introductory decision science to advanced simulation modeling courses. Students’ feedback stressed her enthusiasm, responsiveness, and effectiveness in her teaching. Students commented, “Phenomenal TA, truly made the course a gem in the entire school. Helped with all projects, provided excellent insights, and helped with all aspects of research process,” and “[Jinyi] was very responsive, very patient, very knowledgeable and extremely supportive”.
