CHDS affiliated faculty Soroush Saghafian was awarded the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) MSOM Society’s 2021 Young Scholar Prize in June 2021. INFORMS is the leading international association for Operations Research & Analytics professionals. The Young Scholars Prize recognizes exceptional researchers age 40 or under who have made outstanding contributions to scholarship in operations management.

More about Professor Saghafian

Saghafian is an Associate Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and is the founder and director of the Public Impact Analytics Science Lab (PIAS-Lab) at Harvard University. His current research focuses on operations research methods and stochastic systems with specific applications in healthcare and operations management. Saghafian teaches courses on machine learning and related analytical tools to solve for societal problems. He collaborates with a variety of hospitals to improve their operational efficiency, patient flow, medical decision-making, and more broadly, healthcare delivery policies.
