The Immunization Costing Action Network (ICAN) team announced new and updated materials on immunization delivery costs in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs). ICAN is a research and learning network working to increase the visibility, availability, understanding, and use of immunization delivery cost information.
With support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ICAN added 250 new unit costs of vaccine delivery across different LMICs and delivery strategies to its Immunization Delivery Cost Catalogue (IDCC), increasing its total to over 650. Unit costs can be accessed via the IDCC Excel workbook and a web tool.
ICAN also added materials on the costs of immunization delivery in Indonesia, Tanzania, and Vietnam. An executive summary of the methods and results, a full study report, a summary presentation, and an “Evidence to Policy” plan for how the findings can be used for program improvement, planning and budgeting, and other policy decisions are publicly available.
