CHDS Director Sue J. Goldie welcomed the incoming Master of Public Health class with the annual “Fundamental Concepts of Public Health” course, taught during HSPH’s week-long orientation. This three-session course is designed to introduce students, who come to Harvard from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, to the essential concepts in public and global health, and ground them in an interdisciplinary framework for analyzing and addressing complex global challenges. The orientation mini-course was piloted by Goldie in 2015 with former Harvard Chan School Dean Julio Frenk.

Material preparation and multimedia production for “Fundamental Concepts of Public Health” is supported by both the CHDS Media Hub and the Global Health Education and Learning Incubator at Harvard University Learning Studios.
